Burn To Shine DVD

The third installment in Brendan Cantys live documentary style films. Curated by Chris Funk of The Decemberists, and featuring performances by The Decemberists, The Gossip, Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, Mirah and The Planet The amongst others. The Burn To Shine series are cinematically stunning, caught somewhere between live performance and music video. They are not polished in the video sense they are all shot in one take from several angles at once, yet they do not feel quite live because the bands are not playing to an audience, only an empty house set for demolition. A fascinating and intimate look at most of the best indie bands working in Portland today.
